Christine Siegelmann

Founder and CEO of SAFESPACES

About Christine

I entered Occupational Health and Safety as a career changer, feeling lost in a maze of regulations. Even after becoming a certified safety engineer, I realized technical expertise wasn’t enough. I expanded my skills in communication, marketing, and sales to make H&S more engaging and accessible.

After corporate roles and moving to Pellworm, I founded Siegelmann Training, training over 1,500 managers. My approach? „Reduce to the max“—simplifying complex topics to make safety a practical management tool.

My mission is clear: Creating Safe Spaces. Not just through regulations, but by fostering leadership, communication, and understanding.

Want to know more? The Details!

My journey into the field of Occupational Health and Safety was anything but straightforward. As a career changer, I initially felt lost in a labyrinth of regulations and technical terms. Even after becoming a certified safety engineer, countless questions remained unanswered. Yet, with each question answered, my enthusiasm for the importance of Health and Safety grew – for both managers and employees.

I realized that technical expertise alone was not enough. That’s why I expanded my knowledge in the areas of communication, marketing, and sales. After all, a good product like „Health and Safety“ deserves an appealing presentation and easy application.

After positions in the corporate world and a move to the North Sea Island of Pellworm, I started my own H&S business with Siegelmann Training. In four years, I had the privilege of training more than 1,500 managers. Time and again, I experienced similar scenarios: initial skepticism gave way to enthusiasm as I conveyed complex issues in an understandable and lighthearted way. The sparkle in the eyes of my participants was my greatest motivation.

My mantra „Reduce to the max“ helped me to reduce the complexity of the subject. The more understandable the content became, the more the managers recognized the benefits of Health and Safety as a management tool. The initial distance turned into a deep understanding.

While reviewing my own notes, I stumbled upon a phrase I had scribbled down: „Create Safe Spaces.“ It was in that moment that I realized I had been conveying this very concept for years: how to build safe spaces. This wasn’t about just risk assessments and training. It was about leadership, communication, and understanding the fundamentals, commitment, drive. That was my moment of genuine insight.

So who am I? I am the one who explains occupational health and safety in a way that makes it comprehensible, helping clients to install lean and effective processes that truly work. And I am the one who ensures that this important topic brings a sparkle to people’s eyes, transforming safety from a burden into an empowering force. In other words: creating safe spaces.
